Yes, Zombies don't only exist in movies but in real life too. However, these zombies are nothing like the zombies we see in movies. These are zombie ants and not humans turned into zombies.

A certain kind of fungus turns an ant into a zombie and controls its brain. This notorious fungus is called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis.

Now, how does this fungus control the ant's brain??

The fungus begins as a parasite, a friendly one, and then starts depleting the nutrients present in an ant and hijacking the ant's brain. Within a few days, the fungus compels the ant to leave its safety zone and move towards a plant stem. Subsequently, the fungus sends the ant into an area consisting of all necessary conditions for its growth. After growing sufficiently, the fungus sends a long stalk through the ant's head which rains the fungus's spores out onto other ants. These spores even make other ants into zombies.

So the next time someone says that zombies don't exist, you can tell them that saying zombies don't exist is like taking a spoonful of water from the ocean and saying that sharks don't exist.
